The average price per litre of Kerosene in Nigeria dropped to N303.94 in March 2019, compared to N305.44 in February 2019. This is revealed in the National Bureau of Statistics‘ Price watch report released for the month of March, 2019.
The report also shows that the average price for refilling a 5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) decreased to N2,064.45 in March from N2,067.68 recorded in February 2019.
However, the price of automotive gas oil (diesel) inched up for the second consecutive month to N229.16 in March, from N225.61 in February and N225.09 in January 2019, respectively.

Consumers in Anambra state paid more for Kerosene
The NBS report shows that States with the highest average price per litre of kerosene are: Plateau (N335.55), Anambra (N329.09), Ebonyi (N326.83), and Ondo (N326.67).
On the flip side, Gombe (N255.38), Niger (N278.02) and Kaduna (N279.75) are the states with the lowest average price per litre of kerosene.
Similarly, states with the highest average price per gallon of kerosene are: Borno (N1357.14), Jigawa (N1283.33) and Katsina (N1278.13). Conversely, States with the lowest average price per gallon of kerosene were Bayelsa (N1,022.37) Kogi (N1,075.00) and Plateau (N1,090.35).

Price of diesel was highest in Borno State
States with the highest average price of diesel include: Borno (N246.67), Niger (N241.88), and Imo states (N240.50). However, states with the lowest average price of diesel are Ekiti (N203.95), Plateau (N217.00) and Rivers (N218.00).
Consumers in Bauchi State paid more for cooking gas
Consumers in Bauchi State paid more for cooking gas in March 2019. The states with the highest average price for the refilling of a 5kg cylinder for cooking gas are: Bauchi (N2,500.00), Cross River (N2,400.00) and Adamawa states (N2,375.00).
However, states with the lowest average price for the refilling of a 5kg cylinder for Cooking Gas are: Kaduna (N1,740.17), Enugu (N1,769.23) and Osun (N1,785.29).
States with the highest average price for the refilling of a 12.5kg cylinder for Cooking Gas are Cross River (N4,753.57), Akwa Ibom (N4,745.00) and Abia (N4,688.89). Lastly, states with the lowest average price for the refilling of a 12.5kg cylinder for Cooking Gas are Kano (N3,787.50), Oyo (N3,802.78) and Adamawa (N3925.00)
Comparing prices across the country
North East paid the lowest price of Cooking Gas – The average price for refilling 5kg of cooking gas was highest in North East (N2316.77). This is followed by South-South (N2240.16), North West (N2021.67), South East (N2010.79), North Central (N1965.29) and South West (N1846.76).
Prices of Kerosene per litre was highest in the South East – Consumers in South East paid more for Kerosene in March 2019. The zone recorded the N319.17 per litre, followed by South West (N307.43), North West (N306.60), South-South (N304.94), North Central (N298.04) and North East (N290.51).
Consumers in North East zone paid more for diesel – Diesel was sold highest in North East at an average price of N235.84, followed by South East (N235.78), South West (N227.84), North West (₦226.87), North Central (N226.53), North West (N226) and South-South N224.35.
