The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Telcom Satellite Limited (TSTV), Benjamin Zidah has revealed why the Pay TV remains committed to introducing a pay as you watch per hour billing system.

While addressing some newsmen in Abuja, the TSTV boss said introducing the pay as you watch the billing system is as a result of the power situation in the country. Zidah also explained that the company took into consideration that customers may not be at home all the time.

Speaking of the challenges facing TSTV, Zidah made known that though at inception there were challenges, adding that the firm is now ready for business.

“It has not been easy. We made some specific goals, we have to continue; we have struggled but we have overcome the storm. We are poised to do business. We have consolidated on our past and we use the best global practices in going forward.” Zidah added.

Nairametrics had reported that in October 2018, dealers of Telecom Satellite TV popularly called TSTV under the umbrella on the TSTV Super dealers staged a peaceful protest to the headquarters of TSTV in Abuja. The dealers were demanding a refund of their investment which was put at over N1 billion for the procurement of TSTV decoders and other accessories since last year October and is yet to be delivered.

The dealers also accused the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed and the CEO of TSTV Bright Echefu, of deceit and fraud.

Recall that the birth of TSTV, an indigenous Pay TV was greeted with high hopes and expectation by many Nigerians. Predicted to challenge the major players in the Pay-TV market in Nigeria. During dinner to mark the official unveiling of the new company, Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed had announced that the Federal Government has granted a 3-year tax relief to the company.
