The Nigerian Stock Exchange All-Share Index today closed at 32,154.03 basis points up 0.33%. Year to date, the index is down 15.92%.

Top Gainers and Losers

Cement Company of Northern Nigeria (CCNN) Plc was the best performing stock today. The stock appreciated by 9.81% to close at N20.15.

NAHCO Aviance appreciated by 5.29% to close at N3.58. Dangote Sugar appreciated by 4.26% to close at N13.45.

On the flip side, Fidson Healthcare was the worst performing stock today.

The stock declined by 10% to close at N4.50. Mutual Benefits Assurance also fell by 10% to close at N0.27. UAC Properties shed 9.60% to close at N1.60.

Top Trades by Volume

The three most actively traded stocks were from the financial services space.

Fidelity Bank Plc was the most actively traded stock today. 22 million shares valued at N42 million were traded in 149 deals.

Regency Alliance Insurance was next with 19.4 million shares valued at N3.9 million traded in 24 deals.

Guaranty Trust Bank rounds up the top three with 11.7 million shares valued at N447 million traded in 101 deals.

NSE lifts suspension placed on four companies 

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) has lifted the suspension placed on Ekocorp Plc, Premier Paints Plc, Austin Laz Plc and Academy Press Plc following the submission of their results.

GNI Plc responds to statement by Reps Committee

Great Nigeria Insurance Plc has responded to a threat by the House of Representatives capital market committee to authorise the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to take over the company.

The company stated that it had put in place measures to prevent insider trading from happening and had not received any query, warning or sanction from SEC or NAICOM regarding insider trading.

The firm also stated that it had been meticulous in making remittances to both the state and Federal Government and had up to date receipts to back them up.
