It has been a truly exciting and somewhat light last week for me considering that most weeks are usually busy. The bulk of the excitement can definitely be traced to the unveil of the Diary of a working mother series (Please find the first installation here). My weekend plans included attending CommonWealth of Zion Assembly’s Hub Global Business and Success Conference. My excitement was palpable and Friday evening was considerably a welcome delight as I made the drive to Guzape Hills, Abuja.

As one who took a huge delight in checking all the boxes before arriving at a decision, I had mapped out the return on my time investment. Top on the list was to glean as much insight as available and go right ahead to put them to work. It was an exciting ride as speaker after speaker in the course of the 3-day event delivered, flawlessly. First came Wale Aladejana who recently started making millions in the perfumery business. Next was Nkechi Harry-Ngonadi, a clothier with a clientele list that was super exclusive. Ayo Makun who has recently added movie production to his cemented place as an ace comedian brought the serious side of him to the stage. Tara Fela-Durotoye, a make-up entrepreneur brought her impeccable game to the event as she shared life shaping thoughts. Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo was unstoppable as he turned my thoughts on wealth creation, the right side up.

In all, it was a well thought out event and I stay thankful to Reverend Biodun Fatoyinbo and his team for birthing and executing such a world-class conference. I firmly decided to embrace as many opportunities that will arise and expand my income streams. Fast forward to Sunday evening, it was time to let down my hair and breathe after a non-stop learning ride.

Abuja is non-boring contrary to popular belief. You only need to know where the party is at to understand this. Thankfully, there was an outing scheduled for the day. I got to the venue and considering that I had skipped breakfast and lunch, made a beeline to the meal point. With a full stomach and some energy boost, it was a pleasure to hear the compère announce that there was a karaoke segment, lined up. When the opportunity came for me to take the microphone, I quickly asked for Coolio’s Gangsta’s Paradise and totally nailed it.

I left the event shortly afterwards and made a mental note to explore the rap music aspect of myself in my quest to embrace multiple income streams. I hope to get signed up to a music label (preferably Chocolate City) and probably bring some mummy perspective to the rap culture and game. Never say, never.
