- About $280 million is to be invested by two firms to generate 175 MW from solar in Katsina. The firms are Pan African Solar and Nova Solar.
- Brifing newsmen in Katsina, Dikko Radda, Chief of Staff to Governor Aminu Maisari said the two projects are to be sited in Kankia and expected to be commissioned in 2016.
- According to Radda, Pan African Solar is to invest $130m for 75mw, while Nova Solar is to commit $150m for 100mw. He said the entire project will be one of the largest solar projects in the continent.
