About $280 million is to be invested by two firms to generate 175 MW from solar in Katsina. The firms are Pan African Solar and Nova Solar.
Brifing newsmen in Katsina, Dikko Radda, Chief of Staff to Governor Aminu Maisari said the two projects are to be sited in Kankia and expected to be commissioned in 2016.
According to Radda, Pan African Solar is to invest $130m for 75mw, while Nova Solar is to commit $150m for 100mw. He said the entire project will be one of the largest solar projects in the continent.
