President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday in Abuja said banks, financial institutions and countries where payments for stolen Nigerian crude oil were deposited‎ have been identified.
He however did not disclose the names of the banks and the countries.
A statement issued in Abuja on Monday by the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina‎ said the government had taken efforts to recover stolen loots a step further.
B‎uhari made the disclosure while meeting with some visiting United States Congressmen.
The president acknowledged the support and cooperation his administration was getting from the international community in gathering required intelligence for tracing and recovering stolen national resources.
