The July meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) earlier scheduled to hold on the 20th and 21st of this month will now hold on the 23rd and 24th, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced.
In a press statement posted on its website yesterday, the apex bank explained that the dates had to be shifted due to the fact that the end of Ramadan may fall about July 17, with the implication that the usual public holidays would fall on the 20th and 21st
According to the statement, signed by the Secretary, MPC and Director Monetary Policy Department at the CBN, Mr. Moses Tule,“To enable all stakeholders concentrate on the Eid marking the end of fasting, the chairman has directed that the 245th meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee shall hold on Thursday 23rd and Friday 24 July 2015.”
The CBN Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele is the Chairman of the MPC
