Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote was on Thursday named Forbes Africa Man of the year. He is the third Nigerian to win the award in four years after HRH Lamido Sanusi won the maiden edition in 2011 and Minister for Agriculture Akinwumi Adesina won in 2013.
Who he beat to the award
Whilst the choice of Aliko Dangote will be a challenge to any nominee, he did come against a formidable crop of people to win he award. Here are they;
1. Thuli Madonsela, South Africa’s Public Protector
2. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Nigerian author
3. Arunma Oteh, Director-General of the Securities & Exchange Commission Nigeria
4. Donald Kaberuka, President of the African Development Bank.
He basically beat two Nigerian women to win this award. I wonder who will be the first Nigeria woman to win? Diezani? ?
