If there was any stock in our portfolio we wished we hadn’t bought it is ABC Transport. The stock has been down 30% since we added it to our portfolio. We have enjoyed some dividends and bonus issue but the yields were not adequate.
The frustrating aspect of the stock is actually their results. Revenue growth has not been able to sustain high operating cost despite so much investment in its haulage and transport business. The company appears to be having difficulty keeping cost down amidst competition and disruptive smaller companies. Should it invest in its supply chain? Automate it’s services? Invest in intra state transport? Spin off its loss making haulage?
Well, not the over flog the issue as this is not the first time we are vending frustrations about the stock.
