Generator Theft seems to be a booming business. According to an article on Businessday, telcos complain that Generator thefts is costing them about N1.1billion annually. In a year alone they loose about 365 generators (one per day). The generators are used to power Base Stations for the various telcos.
What are they doing about it? Well apart from improving security in the base stations they claim to be working on a bill to make base stations “Critical National Infrastructure”.
