Nigeria still remains second to Angola in crude oil production in Africa,  a situation that has remained since the first quarter of 2016.

Nigeria’s oil production has been hammered severely by the activities of Niger Delta militants bombing pipelines and oil installations in the Southern part of the country. As at August nearly all oil platforms in Nigeria declares a Force Majeure.
