The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has announced plans to construct over 10,000 housing units under the Renewed Hope Medic Cities initiative to address the housing needs of medical workers across the country.
The Federal Government will begin constructing 1,250 housing units in four Northern states this week as part of the first phase of the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates Project.
The global rental market is arguably larger than the owner-occupier market. In countries like the United States, nearly 44 million housing units are currently being rented, comprising 34% of the total U.S. households.
The Lagos State government said it has provided over 3,000 housing units in the state in the last four to five years, with efforts underway to reach 7,000.
