Justice Mojisola Dada of the Ikeja Special Offences Court has granted Instagram influencer, Ismailia Mustapha popularly known as Mompha bail in the sum of N200 million.
The judge granted Mompha bail on Tuesday and ordered the defendant (Mompha) to produce two sureties of which one must own a property valued at N100 million within the jurisdiction of the court.
Mompha alongside his company, Ismalob Global Investment Limited were arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) for alleged N6 billion fraud.
What happened in court
After hearing submissions from both counsels, the judge granted him bail and ordered that he be remanded till he perfects his bail conditions.
“The applicant is granted bail in the sum of N200 million with two sureties in like sum.
“One of the sureties must have a property valued at N100 million within the jurisdiction of this honourable court,” Justice Dada said.
“The applicant shall however be remanded in a Correctional Center of his choice pending the perfection of his bail,” she added.
The matter was adjourned to March 28 for commencement of trial.

- The judge also directed that the two sureties must depose to an affidavit of means which will allow the placement of a lien in their respective bank accounts.
- She also ordered the sureties to provide evidence of three years tax payment and must be gainfully employed and must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
- The charges are bordering on conspiracy to launder funds obtained through unlawful activity and laundering of funds obtained through unlawful activity.
- While Mr Gboyega Oyewole (SAN) is the defence counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN) is EFCC’s Counsel.
