The health agency said the 460 COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 191,805. However, 178,492 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country since the first COVID-19 case was reported, the agency said.

With one COVID-19 related death reported, the death toll from the virus is now 2,455, NCDC said.

Recall that the Lagos State Government had on Sunday said it will resume the administration of second doses of the AstraZeneca COVID vaccine, on Monday 30th August 2021, to persons who have received the first dose of the vaccine during the first phase of the vaccination exercise in the state.

Following this announcement, residents of Ifako-Ijaiye and Agege, Lagos came out in large numbers on Monday for the COVID-19 vaccination exercise at the Ifako-Ijaiye General Hospital, which is one of the designated vaccination sites in Lagos and residents of the area came out en mass to receive the Oxford/Astrazeneca and the Moderna COVID-19 vaccines respectively.
