Red Star Express Plc, a logistics and cargo generating company, has started its general sales agent services with a partnership with Azman Air Services Limited.

Nairametrics had previously reported that Red Star added the cargo General Sales Agent services to its portfolio to help aviation companies with easy cargo transportation.

Under the partnership with Azman, Red star would be connecting passenger goods and packages from one airport to another using the airline’s carriers. In a statement, the company said that with this new development, cargo goods would be transported faster to various destinations in Nigeria, including Port Harcourt, Kaduna, Kano, and Abuja.

The Group Managing Director, Red Star Express, Dr Sola Obabori stated that the partnership was in line with the company’s expansion drive, especially in the cargo transport and consolidation business. He also spoke on the similar arrangements it had started with Aero Contractors in June while disclosing that there were plans with other reputable airlines in the country and abroad.

“We have identified cargo consolidation as a key area to extend our business into. We commenced the partnership with Aero Contractors in June, and now we have Azman on board as well. Discussions are ongoing with other airlines, especially the international airlines, to achieve similar outcomes,” he said.

According to him, it is the company’s ambition to become the leading provider, especially in the aspect of logistics.
