Brent crude futures traded at $55.59 a barrel and West Texas Intermediate futures was around $52.22 a barrel.
Brent oil futures prices lost 0.2 to trade at $42.35 and West Texas Intermediate (WTI ) fell 0.27% to trade at $40.09.
Gold futures were up 0.22% at $1,886.50/ounce
Brent crude futures were down by 0.65% trading at $39.52 falling below $40 a barrel.
Brent crude was down by 0.17%, to $41.94 a barrel, after falling 1.5% on Monday.
This is the longest losing streak recorded by the safe-haven currency in ten years.
