Global Spectrum, GTBank, Transcorp lead most traded stocks on Monday

Global Spectrum Energy Services Plc, GTBank Plc, Transnational Corp of Nigeria Plc, Zenith Bank and FCMB Plc led the most actively traded stocks on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Monday’s trading session.

While Global Spectrum Energy Services Plc led the chart with 36.6 million shares valued at N172 million traded in 3 deals, GTBank followed with 14.4 million shares valued at N387.2 million in 156 deals and Transnational Corp of Nigeria traded 9.8 million shares valued at N9.9 million in 76 deals.

Zenith Bank followed with 8.3 million shares valued at N149.8 million traded in 228 deals and FCMB Group rounded off the top five most actively traded stocks with 8 million shares valued at N12.8 million traded in 71 deals.

Monday’s trading session ended in positive territory as the All-Share Index closed at 26,559.10 basis points, up by 0.09%.

Top Gainers: Courteville Business Solutions Plc earned the best-performing stock, as it gained 10% to close at N0.22, followed by Fidson Healthcare Plc gained 9.72% to close at N3.95. Cornerstone Insurance Plc gained 7.14% to close at N0.39, AXA Mansard Insurance Plc and Dangote Flour Plc gained 6.25% to close at N1.70, and 3.60% to close at N23 respectively.

Top Losers: Global Spectrum Energy Services Plc was the worst-performing stock, dropped by 9.62% to close at N4.70. UAC Nigeria Plc also fell by 6.99% to close at N6.65. Followed by United Capital Plc, which dropped by 4.69% to close at N2.03, FBN Holdings Plc also fell by 2.78% to close at N5.25 and Ecobank Transnational Inc rounded off the top five losers for the day. The stock shed 2.70% to close at N7.20.

MTN Nigeria Plc, notifies the general public of its Board of Directors meeting which has been scheduled for October 29, 2019, to consider and approve the Unaudited Financial Statements for the nine months ended September 30, 2019 along with other agenda items.

The Company has declared a Closed Period in respect of transactions on its securities from Monday October 14, 2019 until 24 hours after the unaudited financial statements have been announced in compliance with the Rulebook of The Exchange.
