The Nigerian Stock Exchange ended Thursday’s trading session in negative territory. The All Share Index closed at 28,712.90 basis points, down 1.86%. Year to date, the index is down 8.65%.

Top Gainers and Losers: Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc was the best performing stock today. The stock gained 4.76% to close at N0.22. Courteville Business Solutions Plc gained 4.55% to close at N0.23. Guaranty Trust Bank Plc gained 3.27% to close at N30. Livestock Feeds Plc gained 1.11% to close at N13.70. Lafarge Africa Plc rounds up the top five gainers for today. The stock gained 0.99% to close at N1.02.

On the flip side, AXA Mansard Insurance Plc was the worst performing stock, declining by 10% to close at N1.80. Airtel Africa Plc fell by 9.99% to close at N323. Cement Company Northern Nigeria Plc fell by 9.77% to close at N13.85. Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc fell by 9.09% to close at N0.30. Nestle Nigeria Plc rounds up the top five losers for the day. The stock shed 4.83% to close at N1,280.

Top Trades by Volume: FBN Holdings Plc was the most actively traded stock today. 50.1 million shares valued at N302 million were traded in 206 deals. Zenith Bank Plc was next with 21.1 million shares valued at N404 million traded in 235 deals. Access Bank Plc was next with 18.8 million shares valued at N125 million traded in 153 deals. United Bank of Africa Plc was next with 13.1 million shares valued at N77 million traded in 11 deals. Guaranty Trust Bank Plc rounds up the top five most actively traded stocks today with 12.9 million shares valued at N380 million traded in 248 deals.
