Linkage Assurance Plc has announced the appointment of Okanlawon Adelagun as its new Executive Director, Technical. The company’s Board of Directors at their recently-held Board meeting approved Adelagun’s appointment.

In a notification to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) and the general public, the company made known that Adelagun’s appointment will take effect from January 7, 2019.

Adelagun’s appointment is subject to the approval of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and e-ratified by the Company’s shareholders.

Until his appointment, Adelagun was the Principal Consultant, Okadel Consultant, a consultancy firm that offers independent advisory services to corporate institutions on operations, underwriting, business and product development. He had formerly served as Executive Director (Business Development), Union Assurance Plc, and Managing Director, IGI Insurance (Ghana) Limited.

Adelagun is a Sociology graduate of University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Insurance of both Nigeria and London.

Adelagun will be bringing his ween of experience to rejuvenate the technical operations of the Company.

The company had released its financial results for the period ended September 30, 2018. Linkage Assurance Plc recorded a Gross Premium Income of N3.6 billion as against N3 billion in the corresponding period of 2017.

Profit before tax stood at N387 million in 2018 as against N2.8 billion in 2017. Profit after tax stood at N84 million in 2018 as against N2.8 billion in 2017.

About the firm

Linkage Assurance Plc was incorporated in Nigeria on March 26, 1991 as
a private limited liability company, and was licensed to cover and transact non-life insurance businesses on October 7, 1993. The company commenced its operations in January 1994.

In 2003, the company became a public limited liability company and Company’s shares, which were quoted on the NSE were first listed on November 18 of the same year.

The firm is one of the leading insurance service providers in Nigeria, with a reputation for prompt and accurate service delivery, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
