The Private Telecommunications and Communications Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PTECSSAN) has rejected the planned nationwide protest by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) over the recently approved 50% increase in telecom tariff.
The union had on April 2, announced plans to embark on an indefinite strike over alleged unresolved issues with subcontractors linked with Huawei Technologies Nigeria Ltd.
MTN Nigeria is yet to receive a notification of a strike from the PTECSSAN, even as the union threatens to disrupt the telcos' operations.
Telecom workers have threatened to disrupt the telecommunications service of MTN Nigeria if their demands are not met by February 23, 2022.
