OIL REFINING
Aliko Dangote has selected Honeywell Technologies to provide engineering services, licensing and equipment for a planned 700,000-barrels-per-day (bpd) refinery in Kenya.
Dangote Group said a Kenyan court ruling over a land rights dispute will not halt the groundbreaking ceremony for its planned 700,000-barrel-per-day (bpd) oil refinery in Lamu, although some activities at the site could be affected.
Dangote Group’s planned refinery in Lamu, Kenya, is expected to generate about 1,000 megawatts (MW) of electricity, twice the power-generation capacity of its refinery in Lagos.
In the second quarter of 2023, the manufacturing sector's real GDP growth stood at 2.20% on a year-on-year basis.
