ASSBIFI has issued a threat to mobilize its affiliate trade unions and workers to picket the head office of Heritage Bank due to alleged wrongful termination and the failure to settle severance benefits.
According to media reports, ASSBIFI has lamented the practice of casual, contract and outsourcing staff policy in the banking sector.
The number of core staff in the banking industry is set to hit 35%, as causal and contract staffing in the industry is now 65%.
The employees of the IGI, who were allegedly sacked, have protested against the management’s decision to terminate their engagements.
