As part of its commitment to sustainable community development, youth empowerment and educational advancement, Zylus Group has donated 100 sets of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety boots and helmets, to 100 students studying construction and engineering-related courses at Government Technical College, Odomola, Epe, Lagos State.

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, executed in collaboration with the Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board (LASTVEB), is aimed at promoting occupational safety, strengthening practical learning and equipping students with essential protective equipment as they prepare for careers in construction, engineering and other technical fields.

Speaking on the significance of the initiative, the Chief Executive Officer of Zylus Homes, Bukola Olatujoye, emphasized the company’s commitment to creating sustainable value beyond its core business operations.

She said Zylus believes building a better society goes beyond developing properties; it also means investing in the people who will shape our communities’ future. “As a real estate and construction company, we understand the importance of technical expertise and the critical role of safety in the built environment”.

She further noted that the intervention aligns with Zylus Group’s broader CSR objectives, which focus on education, infrastructure development, youth empowerment and initiatives that deliver measurable benefits to communities.

Receiving the equipment on behalf of the institution, the Principal of Government Technical College, Odomola, Dr. Wole Ajifowoke, expressed appreciation to Zylus Group for its support and commitment to improving the learning experience of the students.

He said practical training is a fundamental part of technical education, and the safety of students remains a major priority. He added that the donation is particularly valuable because it addresses an essential aspect of their training by providing protective equipment that will enable them to participate in practical activities more safely and confidently.

Dr. Wole appreciated Zylus Group and the Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board for the thoughtful intervention adding that partnerships like this strengthen the connection between educational institutions and industry while ensuring that students are better equipped with the knowledge, resources and professional values required to succeed in the workplace.

Also speaking on the collaboration, the Director of Partnerships and Industries at the Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board, Mr. Olawale Oluwo, highlighted the importance of private-sector participation in advancing technical and vocational education across Lagos State.

He commended Zylus Group for recognizing the importance of investing in technical education and supporting the students with essential safety equipment. He said the intervention demonstrates how private-sector organizations can contribute meaningfully to skills development, promote workplace safety, and help bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry expectations.

The donation is expected to enhance the students’ practical training experience while reinforcing the importance of occupational health and safety standards in construction and engineering. By providing the beneficiaries with safety boots and helmets, Zylus Group is helping to cultivate a safety-conscious mindset among young professionals at an early stage of their technical education.

The initiative also reflects the growing importance of collaboration between educational institutions and the private sector in addressing skills gaps and preparing young Nigerians for employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.

As an organization with interests across real estate and financial services, Zylus Group continues to demonstrate its commitment to creating lasting social impact through initiatives that support education, community development, infrastructure, and economic empowerment.

Through this latest intervention at Government Technical College, Odomola, Epe, the Group reinforces its belief that building the future is not only about developing physical structures but also about empowering the people who will design, construct, and sustain them.
