A Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced convicted former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, to about 70 years in prison in a 12-count amended money laundering case instituted against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) involving N33 billion.
Justice James Omotosho, who sentenced Mamman on Monday, held that the sentencing relating to 7 years each will run consecutively, that is, in sum, with no option of fine.
The judge sentenced the ex-minister in one of the counts for 3 years with N10 million fine.
The judge berated the ex-minister for absconding from the court to hear his sentencing.
The judge also ordered national and international security agencies to arrest the minister if found.
The court also forfeited all foreign currencies recovered from his house by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, including his property
