Bitnob, a financial technology company making it easier for Africans to receive, spend and save their money has launched its virtual dollar card.

The virtual dollar card is a digital card that allows users to make seamless online payments. Bitnob’s virtual card offers a range of benefits to consumers, including the ability to create a card for free and fund your virtual card with up to $10,000.

Also, users can customize their cards, keep track of their transactions, and freeze cards for security purposes or to prevent unwanted recurring bills.

In 2022, the Central Bank of Nigeria restricted the use of naira debit cards to $20 per month for international transactions, thereafter, they restricted all international transactions to only dollar cards issued by local banks. This caused hardship for those who shopped online or made regular international payments with their cards, especially for those who had to pay for monthly subscriptions.

The Bitnob virtual dollar card solves this and is a game-changer for anyone who has to make regular international payments. Users no longer have to worry about card restrictions set by the Central Bank. With the Bitnob virtual dollar card, you can buy items from any online store including Amazon, ASOS, Shein, eBay, Aliexpress and so much more. You can also pay for streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Spotify. Continuing your subscription with Canva, Zoom, and other online services is also possible with the Bitnob virtual dollar card.

“We’re thrilled to enable our users to make payments to US-based merchants and retailers that accept MasterCard as a form of payment for goods and services. Our users can now seamlessly shop online, pay for their Netflix, Spotify, and Apple subscriptions and register for their online courses,” said Bitnob’s CEO, Bernard Parah. “The virtual dollar card offers a level of convenience and security that is unmatched in the market, and we believe it will be a game-changer for consumers.”

Recently, Bitnob expanded its service to 8 African countries. Bitnob has positioned itself as a leading payment infrastructure connecting Africa to the world. Bitnob, through its app and technology, has made it possible for Africans to have access to cross-border payments in a way that’s fast, cheaper, and convenient.

However, users anywhere in the world who have access to the Bitnob app can create a virtual card from the comfort of their homes. This goes in line with Bitnob’s ideals to be a company that gives people unlimited freedom.
