Apple just wrapped up its October 2021 event yesterday, which featured a slew of new products and announcements, including the long-awaited M1-equipped MacBook Pros.
Apple’s MacBook Pros were last redesigned in 2016, however, this year’s model has improved and updated features based on user feedback.
Here are the major highlights from Apple’s Unleash Event
MacBook Pro
The MacBook Pro has been revamped, and two new versions have been released. The 14-inch and 16-inch sizes are available.
The Touch Bar has been replaced with a conventional set of function buttons, and Apple has added MagSafe, an SD card slot, and an HDMI connector. The 120Hz ProMotion screens are another new feature on the new MacBook. The 14-inch model will have a screen resolution of 3,024 x 1,964, while the 16-inch model will have a resolution of 3,456 x 2,234 pixels.
Additionally, both versions may be configured with Apple’s new M1 Pro and Max processors, which are more powerful. The new MacBook will cost between $1,999 and $2,499. Both laptops are available for pre-order today, with public availability on October 26th.
M1 Pro and M1 Max
Apple also unveiled its latest processor. Both have 10-core processors made up of eight high-performance cores and two high-efficiency units manufactured in a 5nm technology. In terms of prospective video and memory performance, they differ from one another.
The M1 Pro has up to 16 GPU cores and can handle up to 32GB of RAM with a bandwidth of 200 GB/s. In contrast, the M1 Max has 32 graphics processors and double the RAM and memory bandwidth. The processors are 70% quicker than Apple’s previous M1 SoC and up to 1.7 times faster than competitive Intel and AMD CPUs, according to Apple.
Apple Home Pod Mini
Three additional colours have been added to Apple’s Home Pod Mini. The additional yellow, orange, and blue colours will be added to the existing white and space gray versions. The speaker is fully integrated with the rest of the company’s offerings. Its built-in U1 ultra-wideband processor, in addition to Siri compatibility, allows you to swiftly and effortlessly pass audio from your iPhone to the speaker.
Pairing two HomePod minis for stereo sound is also feasible. Another possibility is to use numerous HomePod minis in various rooms to play the same audio. All of this adds up to a powerful smart speaker. The Apple Home Pod mini will cost $99 dollars.
