2-Year FGN Savings Bond due June 14, 2019: 13.189%

3-Year FGN Savings Bond due June 14, 2020: 14.189%

Opening Date: June 5, 2017

Closing Date: June 9, 2017

Settlement Date: June 14, 2017

ISSUER: Federal Government of Nigeria (“FGN”)

UNITS OF SALE: N1,000 per unit subject to a minimum Subscription of N5,000 and in multiples of N1,000 thereafter, subject to a maximum subscription of N50,000,000.

Coupon Payment Date: September 14, December 14, March 14, June 14

REDEMPTION: Bullet repayment on the maturity date

    The FGN savings bond is definitely a better option than leaving money in Nigerian banks who mostly offer next to nothing on savings.
    But truth is, there better alternatives out there for those who want more and have have higher risk tolerance.
