A group of United Nations experts tasked with forecasting the next disasters that will cost the world billions of dollars have included Nigeria among their list of countries where these disasters will occur. According to the Reuters the experts reports Nigeria will continue to find it challenging stopping Boko Haram despite the efforts of the Buhari Government to fight the terrorist group. Nigeria and its neighbours will struggle to stop more massacres by Boko Haram militants, while their armies will continue to commit abuses, it said.
“Apart from Boko Haram, the regional armies similarly perpetrate human rights violations against civilians, including extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, acts of torture and rape,” the report said.
The report also mentions the crisis in Libya, Ukrain, Mali Afghanistan as other potential disaster spots. Get the article here
