Champion Breweries appreciates by 9.71%, taking market value to N2.11 billion

At the end of today’s trading session, Champion Breweries Plc share price appreciated by 9.71% to close at N3.05 per share, taking the market capitalization from N21.77 billion to N23.88 billion.

Champion Breweries Plc, today recorded a gain in share prices which can be attributed to investors’ positive sentiment which triggered buy-interests in the shares of the company supporting a gain of N2.11 billion in market capitalization at the close of trading activities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

The shares of the quoted brewery advanced from N2.78 per share at the start of trading day, to N3.05 per share, the highest price traded at the close of the market, to represent a gain of 9.71% which in monetary terms is N0.27.

Stock performance summary

The buy-interests witnessed in the shares of Champion Breweries positively influenced the company’s market capitalization from N21.77 billion to N23.88 billion at the end of today’s trading activities, taking the gain to N2.11 billion.

The shares of the brewery have gained 254.65% from year-to-date, starting the year at N0.86 and currently traded at N3.05. However, the shares of the company have returned about 276.54% gains for investors who bought them at their 52-week low trading price of N0.81 per share.

During today’s trading hours, 37,684,373 ordinary shares of Champion Breweries Plc worth about N114.84 million were exchanged in 283 executed deals.

In comparison, the shares of Guinness Plc and International Breweries Plc closed flat at N29.05 and N4.60 at the end of today’s trading session. Nigerian Breweries gained 1.08% in share price to close at N47.00.

At the end of today’s trading activities, the NGX All-Share Index and Market capitalization appreciated by 0.19% from the previous trading day, to close at 41,129.98 index points and N21.43 trillion respectively.

The NGX Consumer Goods Index appreciated by 0.17% to close the day at 561.86 from 560.91 index points.
