The Registrar of the Corporate Affairs Commission Bello Mahmud has announced that you no longer need accountant or lawyers whenever you want to register a company.
The registrar revealed this at the Presidential Economic Workshop in Abuja claiming it’s one of the commission’s initiative to improve the Ease of Doing Business.
He explained that before now, accountants and lawyers were the only authorized professionals who could assist with company registration because of the incessant complaints from the activities of touts.
He further explained that with this new directive, anyone can process company registration at the corporate affairs commission.
Mr Mahmud also announced that the process of registering a company registration can now be facilitated online for the most part. According to him, apart from paying for Stamp duties and filing of registration documents, other processes can be initiated online such as starting with a search.
He also informed the media that the CAC was working with the FIRS to ease payment of Stamp Duties, such that you can pay for Stamp Duties and filing fees right at the CAC portal rather than go through multiple channels.
