Captain Musa Nuhu has been appointed the new Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) by President Muhammadu Buhari. Nuhu replaces Captain Muktar Usman as the new NCAA boss.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued in Abuja by the Director, Public Affairs of Federal Ministry of Aviation, James Odaudu.

Nuhu’s profile: Until his appointment, Nuhu who is an airline pilot, safety expert, quality assurance lead auditor, and an artificial intelligence expert was Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the International Civil Aviation organization.
Prior to now, Nuhu worked at various times at the defunct Nigeria Airways, Aero Contractors and Petrowest, among other organisations. He holds an MSc. in Aviation Business from Concordia University and was at the Presidential Air Fleet as a captain and a safety officer. He also has a Diploma in Aviation Safety from the University of Southern California.
Nuhu worked as a Line Captain and Flight Safety Officer at Aero Contractors of Nigeria Ltd before going on to work as a Chief Pilot at MRS Group/Petrowest Operations SA. He had also been a Technical Assistant at the Minister of Aviation in the past.
“The new DG was also the chairperson, Comprehensive Regional Aviation Safety Plan for Africa and Indian Ocean at the ICAO headquarters in Montreal, responsible for safety, air navigation, airports, and aviation infrastructure development,” the statement read.

More details: Apart from the appointment of Nuhu, Buhari also approved the appointment of Mahmoud Sani Ben-Tukur as Nigeria’s new Permanent Representative to the International Civil Aviation Organisation.
Ben-Tukur has over 24 years of experience in the aviation industry. He possesses extensive knowledge and experience in Aviation Safety and Quality Management Systems. He also has knowledge of ICAO Standard and Recommended Practices and Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations.
Before Ben-Tukur was appointed, he was a Technical Adviser to the Minister of Aviation.
