Fashola stripped of power, as Adamu-Adamu, Ngige, others retain portfolios

The former governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola has been stripped off the portfolio as the Minister of Power. According to the list announced by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, Fashola’s ministerial portfolio has been streamlined to Works and Housing.

Meanwhile, Sale Mamman from Taraba State has been appointed as the new Minister of Power. However, Adamu-Adamu, Lai Muhammed and Chris Ngigewere all returned as minister of education, minister of Information and culture and minister of Labour and employment respectively.

Further Details: On the other hand, the former minister for finance, Zainab Ahmed now has extended portfolios as minister for finance, budget and Planning.

Basically, the majority of the returned ministers retained their portfolios, while Fashola was stripped of power, Suleiman Adamu from Jigawa State was stripped of Minister for Water Resources.

The Thirteen Returnees: The President returned thirteen ministers who were part of his cabinet during the first administration. However, only the portfolios of eleven ministers were returned.
