Sanusi breaks silence over his removal, arrives Nasarawa, Former CBN Governor, Sanusi appointed KADIPA board member

The deposed Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, has finally broken his silence over his removal. Sanusi, who was a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), said that his removal is a divine act. He stated that his predicament was nothing new as it is only God that has absolute power.

In a video message, which has gone viral on social media, the deposed Emir was thankful to God almighty for a peaceful reign.

In the video, which was done before he was taken away, he said, “Power is transient, the position of Emir ship is temporary.

“If it were permanent, I wouldn’t have ascended the throne of Emir of Kano.

“Before my ascension to the throne, someone was Emir, so what happened to me should not disturb anybody.

“Whenever God says your time is up on the throne, if you don’t vacate peacefully, you will be forced to.

I, therefore, thank Almighty Allah that brought my reign as Emir to a peaceful end devoid of crisis.”

In his statement, Sanusi thanked the Islamic clerics and his supporters all through the years for their support and asked the people of Kano to accept anyone who succeeds him as the Emir of Kano, so he can have a peaceful reign.

It could be recalled that Nairametrics reported that Sanusi was dethroned on Monday, March 9, 2020, as the Emir of Kano following the decision of the State Executive Council. According to the Kano State Government, he was dethroned following his constant disregard for the State Government, flagrant disobedience of constituted authorities and refusal to attend official meetings of the traditional rulers.

In a related development, the dethroned Emir has arrived Loko, a town in Nasarawa State where he was banished to. According to a monitored report, this was confirmed by the traditional ruler of Loko who stated that no one would be allowed to speak with him.
