Stock Market ends week stronger, as ASI grows by 0.94%

The stock market ended the week bullish with the all-share index growing by 0.94% to close at 29,628.84 index points compared to the closing index of 29,352.12 recorded previous Friday. Also, the market capitalisation grew to N15.261 trillion.

Premium Board 

Lafarge Africa led the list of premium board gainers as it closed the week at N17.5, 10.76% gain compared to N15.8. Seplat petroleum followed having closed the week at N605, 2.89% increase from N588 while Dangote Cement rounded off with a 2.8% gain to close at N179.9 compared to N175 recorded at close period last week.

Lafarge Africa Plc

On the flip side, Access Bank lost 5.09% to close at N10.25 followed by UBA, which dipped 2.34% to close at N8.55. Zenith Bank lost 1.57%, closed at N21.95 while MTN and First Bank Holding lost 1.26% and 0.65% to close at N125 and N7.3 respectively.

Mainboard gainers 

Law Union Insurance recorded the highest gain in the bourse last week with 38% gain to close at N0.69 followed by Honeywell Flour Mill, which gained 14.6% to close at N1.18. NEM Insurance gained 12.2% to close at N2.2 with Caverton Support Group upping 10.7% to close at N2.9 while Cap Plc rounded off the list with 10% gain to close at N27.5.

Mainboard decliners 

NCR Plc recorded the highest loss with 18.2% dip to close at N3.31 followed by Eterna Plc, which lost 12.5% to close at N3.15. Arbico Plc dipped 9.97% to close at N3.16, ABC Transport lost 8.9% to close at N0.41 while Unity bank rounded off the list with a 8.7% decline to close at N0.63.
