Facebook Tech Hub launches in Edo

A new gathering of developers known as Developers Circles have been launched by Facebook in Edo State. The Tech Hub is expected to create a community where experts and tech enthusiasts meet to deepen their knowledge of tech and develop new products.

Izoduwa Asemota, Co-lead of the Facebook developer Circle, who was present at the inauguration of the group in the State Capital, Benin, described the platform as a community for developers to create problem-solving tech products.

Asemota said that the goal of the platform was to establish a group of people willing to transform the future of technology and create tech entrepreneurs in the process.

It will bring a lot of youths together to work at a start-up group and build products that will help to develop the community.”

Asemota who was futuristic in his approach said the end-goal of the hub was to create an incubation centre that would mentor startups which will, in turn, bring about great products.

The Senior Special Assistant to Edo Governor on Skills Development and Jobs Creation, Ukinebo Dare was represented by Mrs Uyi Umaigba, Director for Cluster Promotion and Management, at the event. Dare said that the platform would greatly support developers to carry out all tech-related activities. She also said that the Government would create a platform for more hubs to integrate.
