NCC set to host maiden edition of Nigerian Telecom Leadership Summit

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has finished preparations to host the maiden edition of the Nigerian Telecom Leadership Summit (NTLS 2019). The event is scheduled to hold in Lagos next week.

Date of the summit: According to the organiser, the summit will hold on Thursday, 23rd of May, 2019, at the Grand Ball Room of Eko Hotel & Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Why this matters: The theme of the summit is “Repositioning the Nigerian Telecom Industry for Future Challenges and Prospects”. According to the NCC, the theme is in line with the Commission’s commitment to continually improve the investment climate of the Nigerian telecom industry.

“It is geared towards sustaining a robust collaborative regulatory environment in order to address current and future challenges of the sector.

“As part of the programme of collaborative regulatory atmosphere, the summit presents a unique opportunity for NCC to interact with key stakeholders to discuss pertinent issues affecting the industry with a view to proffering solutions to address challenges.

“It is also designed to critically analyse the current state of the industry and to make profound recommendations for sustaining a healthy Nigerian telecom industry.”

Invited guests: Invited guests to the summit include: Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbanjo, SAN, former Minister of Communications Technology, Dr. Omobola Johnson, Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, and Minister of Communications, Honourable AbdurRaheem Adebayo Shittu.

Also attending are the Chairman NCC Board of Commissioners, Otunba Olabiyi Durojaiye, Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of NCC, Prof. Umar Danbatta, Dr. Doyin Salami of the Lagos Business School, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, Governor of the CBN, Ms. Yewande Sadiku, Executive Secretary, NIPC.
