Lagos Will Sign MoU For Construction Of 4th Mainland Bridge In May

Lagos State Government, Thursday expressed its readiness to formally sign a Memorandum of Understanding, (MOU), with investors for the construction of the 4th Mainland Bridge before the end of May.

Governor of the the state, Akinwunmi Ambode gave this hint at the Third Quarterly Town Hall meeting held in Ikorodu, Lagos East Senatorial District.

Previous governments in Lagos State had used the 4th Mainland Bridge to campaign to its citizens, promising that if voted into office, construction and completion of the bridge will be a thing of the past.

According to Ambode, the construction of the bridge will cost over N240 billion.

The bridge will extend from Ajah through Langbasa to Ikorodu.

The Governor said though the government did not have fund for the reconstruction of the road, some investors had indicated interest in the project.

“Many investors have shown interest in the actualisation of our dream for the 4th Mainland Bridge,”

“It will be a PPP Project; there will be three lanes on both sides and the remaining two lanes in the middle will be reserved for rail development in the future when the government has funds for the project,” Ambode said.
