Nigeria witnessed a decline in its natural gas production, reaching 40.4 billion cubic meters in 2022, as indicated by the June 2023 Statistical Review of World Energy report.

The country’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports also experienced a decrease, totaling 19.6 billion cubic meters in 2022.

The report underscores the fact that Nigeria’s current natural gas production levels are not significantly higher than those recorded in 2012.

It highlights the fluctuations observed in Nigeria’s natural gas production between 2012 and 2022, with the highest production occurring in 2020.

To provide further insights, the report presents a comprehensive overview of Nigeria’s natural gas production from 2012 to 2022.
