President Muhammadu Buhari has again appealed to Nigerians, especially residents across locked-down areas, to be patient and stay at home for a longer period, as the Coronavirus pandemic persists.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu. Shehu stated that virtually all countries of the world are currently fighting for their own survival, reminding Nigerians that help will not come from any other country of the world, but from Nigerians themselves.
He appreciated Nigerians for their level of understandings so far displayed in the face of the hardship, which come along with strict regulations. He also charged everyone to continue to obey the stay at home order in all the places where they had been imposed, as well as the instructions to keep up personal hygiene and observe social distancing. All over the world, these have so far been the only answers to containing the spread of COVID-19, he said.
