Former Manchester United player, Marouane Fellaini, has become the first player in Chinese Super League (CSL) to test positive for the Coronavirus. His club, Shandong Luneng revealed that he’s now under observation.
Shandong Luneng said the Belgian midfielder is the first confirmed case in the football league and the club will do anything in it capacity to ensure his recovery.
It was stated in a report that Fellaini is now “under observation and having treatment at a designated medical facility.” The Chinese club added that, “The club will do its best to help in the treatment and recovery of the player.”
Fellaini had joined Shandong Luneng from Manchester United in February last year for a reported €7.2 million. His reported case will affect the Chinese Super League’s plan to start its season next month.

The league was scheduled to begin last month, but due to the Coronavirus outbreak in China, it was suspended. But China has began to report new cases of Coronavirus.
Coronavirus began in Wuhan, China, in December, but has since spread across the world, becoming a pandemic. It has killed about 13,000 people and infecting more than 300,000.
In Nigeria, about 28 cases have been recorded, excluding the two persons discharged.
Fellaini is one of the famous names in football across the world that has tested positive for Coronavirus. The likes of Juventus forward Paulo Dybala, Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, have all tested positive, although Hudson-Odoi stated he has recovered.
