Average fuel price drops to lowest in 4 months

The Nigeria Bureau of Statistics NBS has released the Premium Motor Spirit PMS [Petrol] price watch for the month of March.

The report shows the average price paid by consumers for premium motor spirit (petrol) increased by 9.4% year-on-year and -5.3% month-on-month to ₦163.4 in March 2018 from ₦172.5 in February 2018.

The average PMS Price across the zones in the country shows that the south-south zone recorded the highest price of ₦171 while the south-west and north-central recorded the lowest price of ₦159 and ₦158 respectively.

During the month under review, states with the highest average price of premium motor spirit (petrol) were Taraba (₦184.38), Jigawa (₦180.93) & Ekiti (₦173.89) while states with the lowest average price of premium motor spirit (petrol) were Kaduna (₦147.29), Bauchi (₦145.57) & Abuja (₦145.00).
