It must be hard to be a regulator in an emerging economy like Nigeria however this is no excuse for the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), to have no up to date data on any mutual fund or collective investment scheme as they choose to call it over here on their website.
When you visit the mutual fund section of the SEC website it shows you a page with that is supposed to have current information and data on:
- Registered Funds/Fund Managers
- Net Asset Value (NAV) of collective Investment Scheme’s
- Expense Ratios
- Fund Managers Monthly Investment Schedule Breakdown
- Fund Managers Dashboard
Clicking on any of the above links on SECs website will show you the message below:
“Page not found…The page you’ve requested no longer exists or could not be found.”
How are investors then to make informed choices?
