Unilever Is The No 1 Employer in South Africa For The Second Year Running

A CNBC article reports that Unilever SA is the number 1 employer of labour in South Africa for the second year running. This is indeed shocking to me considering that Unilever also operates in Nigeria and has been in operations for years. In their 2013 annual report, Unilever reported that it employed 1,206 staffs (excluding executive directors) down from 1,240 in 2012. This is an excerpt of the article from CNBC.

Unilever SA has been ranked the number one employer in South Africa for the 2nd year in a row; this is after the Top Employers Institute announced South Africa’s top 10 employers. The institute globally certifies excellence to organisations that go the extra mile for the development of their employees. Joining CNBC Africa is David Plink, CEO of the Top Employers Institute and Antoinette Irvine, Spokesperson for Unilever South Africa.
