With the introduction of the “Cashless” era in banking there is strong indication that more people will depend on online banking for their banking transactions. This brings on a lot of doubt and concern amongst customers as people remain skeptical about which banks you can rely on to provide safe and easy to utilize online banking facility. But can that doubt be doused by online tracking giant Alexa.com.
Alexa provides analytics for websites around the world by tracking and ranking them drawing from usage patterns from millions of users around the world. So if we assume that the bank with the most online ranking in Nigeria is a reflection of customers confidence, which bank will that be? Well, according to Alexa that would be GT Bank.
GT Bank currently ranks 16 as the most visited website by Nigerians and ranks 1 for Banks in Nigeria. In fact it ranks first as well for any financial institution. Closest to GTBank was Zenith coming at 107 by country ranking and second for Banks. Could their first position be because more Nigerians use and rely on their online banking services? Or is that their customers are more of a niche class who expectedly are inclined to use online banking? I believe, their rank as No1 for banks and being in the top 20 for a testament of their successful online banking platform. What do you think?
The fact that GTBank's online platform is head and shoulders above the rest was never in doubt. The service could be better though…but that's another matter altogether.
I actually use Zenith, but it amazes me that most people I come across use GTB and actually like the service. This surely puts them in a lead position with the introduction of the cash-less Lagos
