Nigeria’s former Finance Minister, Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala will earn a whopping £100k as Non-Executive independent director of Standard Chattered Bank.
An Independent Non-Executive director of a bank is someone who does not have shares or interest in the in a company but sits on the board as a non-executive director. They are nominated by shareholders of the bank by virtue of their experience, connection, intellectual status and personality. It is also a requirement fulfilled by quoted companies who wish to comply fully with corporate governance rules.
She will also earn an additional £30k as member of the board values and conduct committee.
