This happened when the staff of the micro finance bank where they work got to the office in the morning and discovered that the vault had been opened and the money inside disappeared. Reports put the amount deposits in the bank at N11.7m.
I wonder why salaries of Police Officers was paid into a micro-finance bank in the first place. People have said times without number that the place of a micro-finance bank resides in villages and inner suburbs of our cities. Their targets should be market women and petty traders who need financial aid on a daily basis in hundreds of Naira. This particular bank was located behind the Police College Commandant’s office. Evidently not a sage place to locate a bank.
Sincere condolences to the victims who now face apparent delays upon grammar and may now need to rely more on other obvious means of augmenting their salaries.
