The Nigerian Bureau of Statistics has released the Immigration Statistics for the year 2017.
There was an 80.43% drop in passport applications in 2017. A total of 720,958 applications were received in 2017 as against 3.68 million in 2016.
The report shows 127,882 of the 2017 figures are minor while 544,473 are adults and the remaining 48,603 are the senior citizen.
The report also shows that 16,387 Nigerians were deported from different countries across the globe. Also 18, 543 foreigners were refused entry in the country.
The Nigerian Immigration Service generated ₦35.7 billion in 2017 as against ₦36.1 billion in 2016.
