Justice Adeniyi Ademola has withdrawn from the ongoing trial of Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd.), the former National Security Adviser. He stated the allegations of corruption levelled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission as his reason for withdrawing from the case.
Daily Post reports that he made this announcement a few minutes ago before the court. It would be remembered that Justice Ademola was one of the judges arrested in the recent controversial clampdown on the judiciary by the EFCC.
Dasuki is currently facing trial for mismanaging public funds and misuse of office at the Federal High Court, Abuja. It now remains to be seen who will take over the case after Ademola’s exit.
