Nairametrics| Green Apple, a company that an hotel and recreational facilities, has been razed to the ground by hoodlums in Kaduna state, Leadership claims. According to the reports, the company, owned by the former Minister of Environment, Laurentia Mallam was destroyed along with properties worth hundreds of millions of naira.
About ten buses fully loaded with heavily armed hoodlums allegedly from Rigasa in Kaduna North local government area of Kaduna state were said to have stormed the property loaded in over 10 buses with dangerous weapons. This act was said to have taken place with the go-ahead of the Nigerian Police Force as eye witnesses confirmed that some police men in uniform accompanied the thugs who perpetrated the attack on the building. While a dispute over the legitimate owner of the said property is thought to be the reason behind the destruction, residents of Kaduna were quick to interpret it as another religious crisis. As a result, palpable tension has permeated the city, with police men from the metropolis having to promptly storm the scene and calm the situation.
Laurentia Malam was the Minister of Environment under the Jonathan administration and also the Yar’adua/Goodluck and Goodluck/Sambo Presidential Campaign Women Leader in the North West zone. She is not new to being the subject of criminal acts. Just last year, Laurentia Mallam was kidnapped along with her husband, Pius Mallam, along Bwari/Jere axis on Kaduna-Abuja highway. They were however released after an undisclosed amount of money was paid as ransom.
