GTB, Access, Zenith bank, two others traded N1.17 billion on stocks

GT bank, Zenith bank, Access bank, Fidelity Bank and Mansard made the most actively traded stocks on Tuesday as invested traded N1.17 billion on them on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, contributing 61.9% of the total value.

GT bank was the most actively traded stock on the floor today with trades in 26.3 million shares valued at N799.6 million across 270 deals. Access bank plc followed with trades in 15.1 million shares at N136.6 million across 356 deals.

Zenith bank plc traded in 11.02 million shares valued at N205.3 million across 393 deals, Fidelity bank plc traded 7.2 million shares at N14.5 million across 81 deals while Mansard insurance rounded off the list with trades in 5.6 million shares valued at N10.14 million across 24 deals.

The stock market closed on negative territory today as the All share index dropped by 0.29% to close at 26,912.91 index points depleting the equity market capitalisation to N12.99 trillion compared to N13.04 trillion recorded on Monday.

Top gainers

Okomu oil plc gained 9.87% to close the day at N54.55 followed by Etranzact, which gained 9.66% to close at N2.61. Royal Exchange Plc and Wapic Insurance gained 8.33% each to close at N0.26 and N0.39 respectively while Jaiz bank capped the list with 4.55% gain to close at N0.69.

Top losers

Ikeja hotel plc topped the losers’ chart as it declined by 9.73% to close at N1.02 followed by Champions brew, which lost 8.82% to close at N0.93. Law Union insurance plc witnessed a decline of 8.45% to close at N0.65. Chams plc closed at N0.35 indicating 7.89% decline while Guinness Nigeria Plc lost 6.45% to close at N29.
